Geography show
Vinnitsa region is located in central part of right-bank Ukraine, south-west of Kiev. Region extent from north to south is 204 km, and from west to east - 196 km.

Vinnitsa region borders in north with Zhitomir region, on northeast – with Kiev region, on east – with Cherkassy region, on a southeast – with Kirovograd region, on south – with Odessa region and Republic of Moldova, on south-west – with Chernovtsy region and Khmelnitsky region. It is the unique region of Ukraine, which borders with so many subjects (7 regions of Ukraine and Moldova).

Administrative-territory division show
Vinnitsa region occupies almost 4, 4% of Ukraine territories which is 26, 5 thousands sq. km.

Vinnitsa region consists of 27 districts, 18 cities, including 6 towns (Vinnitsa, Zhmerynka, Mogilev-Podolsky, Kazatyn, Ladyzhyn and Khmelnik), 29 settlements and 1466 villages.

The region administrative center is Vinnitsa city.

According to all-Ukrainian census of population, total population of Vinnitsa region is 1771,8 thousands of people. The quantity of urban population is 818, 9 thousands of people, which is 46%, and the quantity of rural population is 953, 5 thousands of persons, which is 54%. Population density is 69 people per sq. km.

Economy show
The industry influences less the region economy. Thus all leading industries (except for electric power) are directly related to the agricultural cycle, including the production of machines and fertilizers, processing of agricultural raw material.

Radio valve factory, alcohol factories, Crystal plant, JSC Khimprom, oil and fat factory in Vinnitsa city, mechanical engineering plant named after Kirov in Mogilev-Podolsky town are among the largest enterprises of the region. 12,7% of industrial manufacturing potential of Ukraine, 2% of the main production assets and 2,6% of industrial goods production relates to Vinnitsa region.

Food industry, mechanical engineering, light industry, production of building materials are the most important in branch structure of Vinnitsa region industry. Enterprises of agricultural engineering and branches that produce equipment for food industry related to the large group of industrial enterprises of Vinnitsa region.

Vinnitsa region is one of the most important agricultural regions of Ukraine, it occupies the first place in the country on the production of grain crops and sugar beet, partakes 1–2 places with Republic of Crimea on the production of vegetables. Therefore, specialization of region economy is a production of agricultural goods.

Regarding agriculture the region can be named as Ukraine in miniature. All industries of Ukraine agricultural production, even such unique as a hop-growing are presented here. Almost fourth of the sugar sown area of Ukraine is located here. Such situation is determined by potential of agricultural climate and territory relief.

The main specialization of agricultural enterprises of all forms of ownership in a plant-growing is growing of grain crops (wheat, barley, corn), sugar beet; in animal husbandry is a production of meat and milk.
