Kherson region is located on the south of Ukraine.
The region borders on east - with Zaporozhe region, on north-west - with Nikolayev region , in the north - with Dnepropetrovsk region, on south by Sivash lake and Perekopsky neck - with Republic of Crimea. There are greater part of the Kakhovsky reservoir and Dnipro river estuary located within the region.

Kherson region consists of 18 administrative districts. On the region territory 9 cities, 3 towns (Kherson, Kakhovka, New Kakhovka), 30 settlements, 656 villages are located. Administrative center of the region is Kherson city. The population of Kherson region is 1107,5 thousands of people.

Economy show
Kherson region branches of national economy specialization are industry (shipbuilding, agricultural engineering, radio electronic and electrical engineering industry, oil processing industry, light industry), agroindustrial and recreational complexes.
Among industrial enterprises it is necessary to mark the Kherson shipbuilding plant, JSC "Kherson combines" – one of leading producers of agricultural technique in Ukraine, JSC "Kherson oil processing", a plant "Sokol" specialized on the production of radio technique is located in New Kakhovka.
The main branches of the region industrial complex are fuel industry, food industry, and also engineering production and metal working industry, production of electric power and heat.
